The D-League (Development League) team that the Raptors are finally getting is rumored to be playing at the Hersey Centre in Mississauga. It was announced earlier that the team would be located somewhere in the GTA, but it wasn't said where. The Hershey Centre makes an ideal location, with a great arena to back it.
The Hershey Centre already has the Mississauga Power play there (an NBL Canada team), so it is uncertain if that team will move cities, or play under the same arena.
It is about time that the Raptors have a D-League team of their own, after sharing a the Fort Wayne Mad Ants with 13 other NBA teams.
With prospect in the system such as Bruno Caboclo, Lucas Nogueira, and DeAndre Daniels, they can finally develop their own players and not worrying about they getting playing time.
With plans to do a semi re-build of the current team, this would be the time to acquire draft picks and young players. With a 20th pick so far in this years draft, and two first round picks in 2016, it is a great time to get a D-League team for Toronto.
